A collaboration of the departments of Asian American Studies, Black Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Feminist Studies, the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education, along with the Office of Research at UCSB, this new teacher training program builds on the strengths of resources already existing on campus.
Through the Engaged Scholarship initiative, we have worked to develop scholarly epistemologies and methodologies based on a collaborative process of knowledge production among scholars and community members, activists and artists. This work seeks to examine not only Black inequality, but also the ways in which Black communities are creatively resisting social problems.
The Environmental Markets Lab (emLab) is an interdisciplinary team of scientists based at the University of California Santa Barbara that conducts cutting-edge, data-driven research on the power, limitations, and design of market-based approaches to tackle the world's most pressing environmental problems. In collaboration with implementing partners, we aim to better align environmental objectives and economic incentives in support of sustainable livelihoods and a resilient planet.

The Center for Research, Excellence and Diversity in Team Scholarship (CREDITS) is an integrated research and training program to increase and enhance Team Scholarship (TS) and collective intelligence capacity, effectiveness, and excellence. Diversity on teams is known to have positive effects on creativity, innovation, and productivity. Apart from its contribution to scientific breakthroughs and grand challenge problems, TS has beneficial impacts on individual research careers.
