"One Pair of Eyes: Reyner Banham Loves Los Angeles," Film, Sept. 3, 6 p.m., University Art Museum Reyner Banham's influential and controversial book, "Los Angeles: The Architecture of Four Ecologies," saw beauty in the sprawling city's layout and car-based urbanism. "Vanishing Los Angeles," Panel Discussion, Sept. 10, 6 p.m., University Art Museum UCSB and Santa Barbara Museum of Art panelists will consider the representation of the people and places of Los Angeles in photography and film in response to their current exhibitions: "Vanishing Los Angeles:" The Photography of Mary Bowling at the UAM, and "Made in Hollywood: Photographs from the John Kobal Foundation" at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
