The UC Budget: Myths and Facts As the University of California confronts the challenges brought about by the global economic crisis and the downturn in state funding, questions about the university’s budget are frequently raised. Register Now for the UCSB Alert Emergency Notification System UCSB Alert is a new campus tool that will be used in the event of a campus
emergency. It enables university officials to contact you during an
emergency by sending text messages to your e-mail account, cell phone, or
smartphone or other handheld device.

go, what to do or what not to do, who to contact and other important

UCSB's
Long Range Development Plan In
1990, the University updated its Long Range Development
Plan (LRDP) to plan for our next 20 years. It is now
time to review the existing LRDP and revise it to address
the University's plans to the year 2025. The LRDP is
a planning tool that will shape how the campus will change
over the next two decades, including changes in our academic
programs and the development of additional campus housing
for students, faculty, and staff. WEB

New
Self-Guided Campus Nature Tour Brochures Available UCSB's
diverse and botanically rich ornamental horticulture
includes plants from six continents, some of them found
nowhere else in Santa Barbara County. The Cheadle Center
for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration has now developed
a self-guided Exotic Flora Walking Tour of the campus.
The one-hour walk begins and ends at the Visitor Center.

UCSB
Embarks on Sustainability Program for Existing Buildings UCSB
has signed an agreement with the U.S. Green Building
Council to use the Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) for Existing Building rating system in
25 of its existing buildings over the next five years.
LEED is the national benchmark for high performance green
buildings. The LEED for Existing Building program will
provide the university with a roadmap to lower energy
use, incorporate sustainable purchasing and maintenance
practices, and improve indoor environmental quality in

Campaign for UC Santa Barbara This
is the first comprehensive campaign to raise private
funds to ensure UCSB's excellence for future generations.
The goal was to raise $500 million, and more than $520

Regulations Governing the Campus Conduct of Individuals Not Affiliated With the University The Regents of the University of California have adopted regulations addressing the conduct of persons who are not students, officers, or employees of the University of California when that conduct is a threat to persons or property or constitutes interference with functions or activities of the University. These regulations may not be utilized to impinge upon the lawful exercise of constitutionally protected rights of freedom of speech or assembly, or the constitutionally protected right of personal privacy.
